Get ready for Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury Foundation’s 35th Anniversary of its Annual Open Golf Tournament.
The Golden Eagle Golf Course will host the event on Thursday, April 25.
The cost is $125 per player and includes lunch, golf, cart, snacks, beverages, prizes and a reception. A vehicle lease is the hole-in-one prize and there is a putt-in-one prize of $2,500 for the lucky winner. Prizes also will be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive. Awards will be given for the top team in each flight for men and women.
“We are pleased to host the golf tournament again this year,” said Don Nelson, Golden Eagle head golf professional. “As we are situated just across the street from Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury, many residents support our club. We are so lucky to have this top-notch retirement community right here in the Northern Neck. We are happy to support their efforts in any way.”
Proceeds from this charitable event support the RWC Foundation’s Fellowship Fund, which ensures continued residency for those who may no longer be able to afford the cost, despite prudent planning. It also provides a variety of programs available at RWC for residents and non-residents.
“We are very excited to celebrate 35 years of this annual golf tournament. We are overwhelmed by the community and corporate support,” said RWC Vice President of Marketing and Development LuAnne Davis. “Sponsors, golfers, volunteers and even spectators look forward to this event every year. We are extremely grateful to all of our sponsors. Presenting Sponsors are Connemara Corporation, Coastal Builders Inc. and Haywood Floor Covering Inc. The 35th Anniversary Sponsors are Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Wealth Management. Many levels of sponsorships are still available including teams and hole sponsorships.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. April 25 with lunch to follow. Shotgun start begins at noon and follows a captain’s choice format. Rain date is Tuesday, April 30.
